Micromouse

MICROMOUSE 2007 :

MICROMOUSE 2006 :

This is our first attempt at making the micromouse. The micromouse we built was for the Techfest competition in IITB for the year 2006.

We used stepper motors and L297- L298 pair to drive them. The microcontroller used was AVR90s2313. We used top-down sensors mounted on two wings as you can see from the pics. IR pair was used as the sensor to look for the red top on the walls and comparator LM339 to digitalise the output.

The design wasn't really efficient however this was indeed our first attempt at making an autonomous robot so we were satisfied with it. We ran into power supply (excessive weight!) issues at the last moment so could not participate in the competition.

As you can see from the pictures in the gallery, we had three stacked pcb's for various modules. Also there were 14 sensors (and not a single indicator LED!) which wasnt really a good design. However this was a great learning experience for all of us as we learnt quite a few about circuit and robot design and how to prepare for a competition.
